Jewel Under the Lotus" 11" x 2", Brass The casing of this Kaleidoscope is a Tibetan incense holder and is decorated with symbols of Power, Health, and Spiritual Harmony. The chamber contains semi-precious stones, including: Amethist,Aquamarine, Citrines, Garnet, Iolite, Pink Tourmaline and Peridots. Wrapped around the cap is the Mantra of compassion: “Om Mani Padme Hum”, which is translated in English with: “The Jewel under the Lotus”, hence the name of the Kaleidoscope. The two mirrors optic creates a star with eight points, one for each of the mantra’s syllables plus two representing the opposing forces that create harmony (light and darkness, good and evil, day and night...).The eight points of the star represent the duality of essence as well as the six (again the Mantra’s six sillables) negative emotions: Pride,Jealousy, Desire, Ignorance, Greed and Anger, and their redeeming positive virtues: Generosity, Harmonious conduct, Endurance, Enthusiasm, Concentration and Insight. Meditating on each of these eight points, you may reach a blessed state of harmony and balance. Or, maybe, you just want to enjoy the beauty of the Mandala and the calming effect of its oil chamber.
